Known as a unique performing arts venue in St. Helena, The White Barn is a carriage house built in 1872 as part of the home and winery estate of the early Napa Valley entrepreneur Erasmus Keyes. Located at the end of Sulphur Springs Avenue in a bucolic vineyard setting, The Barn was transformed into an intimate 75-seat performing arts venue without loss of its historic charm. The Barn has nurtured local and international talents from the San Francisco Bay Area, the West Coast, and nationally for more than 30 years under the guidance of emeritus artistic director Nancy Garden and her son, present director David Garden Jr. The Barn is otherwise staffed by volunteers.
The White Barn has donated proceeds from its events to local and international arts groups and charitable organizations. At all Barn-sponsored shows, complimentary refreshments are served during intermission.
